What is DraftSight 2019?
DraftSight is a powerful standalone application that can create, edit, view 2D and 3D dwg/dxf files. Launched in 2010 as a robust 2D drafting program, DraftSight has now evolved to provide network license support, API, 3D tools and much more productivity tools for fulfilling user’s design requirements at a reasonable and affordable cost in comparison with other tools available in market.
The most common question among all DraftSight users is whether DraftSight 2019 free? Yes it was free until December 31, 2019 but Official announcement was made by mid-year of 2018 that DraftSight 2019 will be paid version only and also all exiting free licenses of DraftSight’s prior versions will be ceased to work by Dec 31, 2019.
The entire product package was revised and now DraftSight is available as 5 different packages as follows.
> DraftSight Standard
Essential 2D drawing and drafting tools.
> DraftSight Professional
Advanced 2D drafting tools, productivity tools like toolbox, Design Resources, Trim options,etc. & API for customization.
> DraftSight Premium
3D tools and 2D constraints available in addition with Professional tools. DraftSight Enterprise similar to DraftSight Professional with Network licensing service and full technical support.
> DraftSight Enterprise Plus
Similar to DraftSight Premium with Network Licensing Service and full technical support.
DraftSight Premium and Enterprise Plus product variants will have additional 3D modelling workspace with single tools to create Primitive shapes and additional functions for creating and editing 3D models in dwg/dxf files. Also separate ribbon menu is available to control drawing entities with geometrical and dimensional 2D constraints.
DraftSight Standard, Professional & Premium is available as Term License with annual cost and can be purchased online whereas DraftSight Enterprise and Enterprise Plus is Perpetual (Life-time) License that can be purchased through a re-seller. The application mainly runs on Windows Operating System whereas for Linux & MacOS it is available as beta or standard version only.
